March 2009 Monthly Meeting
The monthly meeting will be held on Sunday March 15th 2009 at 10.00 a.m. at the T&T Horticultural Society Hall, Lady Chancellor Road, Port of Spain. There will be a Show Table, so do bring along your flowering Orchids.
At this meeting prizes won at the October 2008 Show “Orchids to colour your life” will be distributed to all winners.
Medals won at the April 2008 Show “An Explosion of Colour” will also be distributed.
There will be the usual monthly plant raffle.

The feature topic will be about our upcoming Spring Orchid Show which will take place at the San Fernando Technical Institute in San Fernando on May 23rd. & 24th. 2009.
The Chairman for this Show is Keshwar Maharaj and the co-Chairperson is Stacey Williams.
The Society is looking for volunteers for the show committee for this show.

CONDOLENCES
The Management and Members of the Society extend our deepest sympathy to Naido Washington on the death of her husband George Washington. We also extend our sympathy to Christopher Talma on the death of his father Fred Talma. May their souls rest in peace.

BARBADOS ORCHID SHOW
The Barbados Orchid Society has extended an invitation to participate in their Annual Orchid Show which takes place on March 21st & 22nd 2009 in Barbados .Members who are interested in going to this Show and assisting in setting up a display should contact any member of the Management Committee for further information.
The Society is also requesting donations of cut orchid flowers to take to Barbados for the TTOS display. These flowers should be delivered on Wednesday March 18th 2009, please call the Secretary to confirm where packing will take place.

April 2009 Monthly Meeting
The monthly meeting will be on Sunday 19thApril 2009 at a venue to be confirmed.
This meeting will feature a presentation by the Society Conservation Committee on the Orchid conservation project in Aripo Savanna.

Discussions on the Photo competition / Photos for 2010 calendar

We will also have further discussions on the upcoming Spring Orchid Show in San Fernando which will be held on May 23rd & 24th 2009. This show will feature small, medium and large displays and single entries. We are appealing to all members to start preparing their plants for the show, so that we can make this Orchid Show a great success.

We will also be requesting members to volunteer their assistance for the following areas:
(1) Show set -up on Friday May 22nd. 2009
(2) Assistance in the sale of tickets at the door for both days May 23rd & 24th 2009.
(3) Information booth for both days May 23rd & 24th 2009
