Flower Colour and Size:
Pale white and green flowers borne on an upright inflorescence up to 50 cm. long. Flowers may have a strong citrus like scent. Natural spread of flowers about 1.5 cm.
Flowering Period:
March to June. Plants are dormant from December to January and spikes and new growth emerge together in March.
General Description:
Terrestrial; a rosette of leaves which vary in colour from concolour pale green, silver spotted and/or striped pale green to red mottling on a green background. Leaves form above numerous small tubers. Botanical description see Schultes pg 56.
Habitat:
Leaf mould on forest floor in medium to deep shade at low elevations (50 to 100 metres) in both Trinidad and Tobago and the off shore islands.
